The weekend started off on Friday with Russ Hersey helping by taking the car out on the track for practice, where it was deemed to be running good but a little free. Adjustments were made but found to be a bit too tight for the 2nd practice. Beth drew an 18 in the qualifying line up out of 30 cars. In the heat she started 5th and finished 4th. In the feature Beth started in 8th place, by the 5th lap she had moved up to 6th place after the first caution flag was flown. On the restart there was another caution after about 1/2 lap which involved several of the cars ahead of the #87, this now moved Beth up to 4th which will be the her best placement of the race. The caution at 11 laps moved her back down to 6th place, then she lost 2 more spots restarting back in the 8th position on lap 15. After a couple of near misses over the not 10 laps Beth had worked her way back up to the 5th position by lap 25. She held that position for the remainder of the race and at 30 laps finished 5th. Beth and the Adams Race team is very happy with the results as the #87 was the only mini stock car out of the field of 8 & 6 cylinder trucks.

This is the first update that has been able to made to the site in over a month as we switched servers and had many site issues to repair. This weekend we are racing in Seekonk Speedway in the annual DAV Fall Classic. Thanks to Seekonk's Motel 6 for sponsoring the Adams racing team this weekend. The new car has been plagued with engine trouble since the head on crash into the wall from Aug. 13th putting the back up yellow car back into use for the remainder of the Monadnock Speedway's racing season. Hopefully this weekend Beth will be able to test out the newest engine rebuild on Saturday and Sunday to get the car back on track....no pun intended. The weekend is going to be beautiful with record breaking highs of 85+ degrees on Sunday. Come on out and watch the race and cheer Beth on!

For the last Monadnock Speedway race for the 2011 season, both #87's were slated to run. Beth was to be in the new car, the purple #87 and the car's owner Scooter Adams was to race in the yellow #87 back up car. However the engine in the purple #87 started knocking again during practice. The decision was made that it was not worth running and risking further damage to the block. Scooter Adams had to give up the yellow back up car to let Beth drive it in order to collect her 50 points for running in the last race. She won in the heat. In the feature Beth started in 8th place and in a very competitive race moved up to 5th place to battle out the 4th spot with Louis Mayer in the #69 car for the last 10 or so laps.

Back to using the yellow back up car while the engine on the purple #87 is being evaluated. The yellow #87 continued with a good start for the night winning the heat. In the feature Beth came in 7th place.

The new car was just out of the shop and ready to go for this race. Beth started off great and ended up with the fastest lap times all day for practice. Everyone breathed a big sigh of relief that the abrupt head on crash from 3 weeks ago left no major changes to the cars setup. In the heat we finished 1st. Then in the feature problems started up again with the engine knocking and the car completed 10 laps until the motor blew up. Ending the feature with 2 holes in the block.
